The Philosophy Of Solar Conduit

A conduit is closed channel to guard wiring systems from different types of hazards. Designers and contractors have many options in conduits. While selecting the conduit, you should take in to account features like correct size, conduit material, customer need and impact on PV system performance.

Solar conduit comes in two types: rigid and flexible. Each type can be further divided into metallic and non-metallic. Most conduits are UL listed while others may not be so popular or up to the standards.

Non-metallic conduits are generally made of plastic that meets the performance requirement of steel. Plastic is a better option as it is a light-weight material. Nylon, polypropylene or PVC are common types of plastics used in making of these conduits.

Metal conduits are made from metals like galvanized steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminum or nickel-plated brass. Few conduits contain both metallic and non-metallic materials so that it would show positive features of both materials.

Rigid conduit which is known as piping or tubing is used in areas where extra strength and mechanical protection is needed. You can use flexible conduits in installations that need bending or in areas where there is a lot of vibration.

Each conduit type has many products. It is better to browse online and select the conduit that suits your need.
